    Mid and East Antrim businesses can apply for vouchers of up to £3000 to fund ultrafast broadband under the new Super Connected Cities Scheme.

    The UK-wide initiative is designed to expand access to ultrafast broadband by offering vouchers worth up to £3000 to businesses, social enterprises and charities to invest in equipment and infrastructure.

    ​​One of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s leading tourist attractions has just won a prestigious visitor award.

    Carnfunnock Country Park, just outside Larne on the scenic Coast Road, came out tops in the 2015 Ni4 Kids magazine ‘Family Visitor Attraction of the Year (Large)’ category.

  • Carrickfergus civic history lessons added to Junior Council curriculum

    Young members of Carrickfergus Junior Council have paid a visit to the town’s museum to view an exhibition covering its long and distinguished civic history.

    Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Mayor, Councillor Billy Ashe also attended to view the exhibition, ‘The Glory of Old Made New: A Civic History of Carrickfergus 1325-2015’. Along with the young people, he saw how it takes a reflective look at local government from the establishment of the first town charter to the present.

  • Local Schools’ praised for participation in Armed Forces Day event

    ​Local schools have been thanked for their contribution to the success of Armed Forces Day.

    Specially designed entries from the two schools concerned were prominently displayed at the Arts and Crafts Marquee in Ballymena Show Grounds during the main Armed Forces Day event on Saturday 20 June.
