Mid and East Antrim Borough Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the development of an Integrated Economic Strategy for the new Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area.
This strategy should connect the policies and actions of all relevant stakeholders and be presented as a collective document with the purpose of maximising economic impact to rebuild and rebalance the region’s economy for the benefit of everyone in Mid and East Antrim.
The purpose of the strategy will be to agree the priorities to rebuild and rebalance the economy locally including sectoral priorities, enterprise and business development solutions and investment propositions.

The Project is for the provision of works involving the refurbishment of internal spaces of the ECOS building to form reception, lettable workspace, meeting rooms, cafe, interpretative space and equipment, re-roofing, repairs to windows and doors, re-decoration, floor, wall and ceiling finishes, mechanical and electrical installation refurbishment and external works.

The Contract works shall include for the supply, delivery, off-loading, erection, connection, testing and commissioning of the following installations:-
1. Boiler house installation comprising gas-fired boiler plant, flue installation, New LPHW pipework, pressurisation unit, associated pumps, valves, fittings etc.
2. LPHW heating installation comprising pipework, valves etc.
3. Automatic controls installation as described later to include control panels, control valves etc.
4. Thermal insulation identification of all pipework and installations as described.
5. Fire stopping of all pipework installations.
6. Testing and commissioning of all pipework installations to the highest standards and to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
7. Electrical Installations.

Opening in summer 2015, ‘The Gobbins’ visitor attraction is an exciting new visitor attraction for Northern Ireland which will attract around 50, 000 plus visitors annually. The attraction will permit free unaccompanied access to certain sections of paths, with booked guided tour access to to other sections. The attraction comprises of stunning bridges and paths on the breathtaking Gobbins’ Cliffs in Islandmage, Co Antrim. In addition to the outdoor paths, the attraction will consist of a visitor centre with reception facilities, interpretation, café and retail outlet.
The guided tours will be pre-bookable with the intention for as many customers as possible to book on line in advance and so Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has already appointed contractors for an integrated internal sales system and separate website design.
In preparation for opening, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council wishes to seek tenders from competent companies to provide Mini bus (shuttle) bus provision
It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded by early June 2015.
The contract will run from 22 June 2015 – 30 September 16 with an option to extend by 3 x 12 month periods subject to review and satisfactory performance.
Tenderers are advised to visit the site and ascertain for themselves all site specific conditions, restrictions etc which will relate to the designated transport route and to the performance of the contract. It is the sole responsibility of potential contractors to ensure they are satisfied as to all site specific requirements.

The existing catering contract, within Carnfunnock Country Park, is due to terminate on 26th April 2015.
Mid & East Antrim Borough Council wishes to appoint a competent and experienced caterer for the Catering Lease at Carnfunnock Country Park based within two onsite premises (a) Visitor Centre Coffee Shop; and (b) Activity Centre Snack Stop. (See Appendix 1 for Site Location Plan) On request, catering services must also be provided elsewhere onsite to facilitate Education Centre and BBQ bookings, alongside events.
Carnfunnock Country Park attracts in the region of 200,000 visitors annually and is strategically located at the start of the beautiful Causeway Coastal route.
2.2 CONTRACT PERIOD
It is anticipated that the lease will be awarded by mid - end May 2015.
The contract will run from May 2015 – 31st December 2017 with an option to extend by 3 x 12 month periods subject to review and satisfactory performance.
