Draft Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan Consultation

Mid and East Antrim’s draft Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan Consultation has been launched.

The MEA Age Friendly Affiliation has opened an eight week period of public consultation to seek comments on their first ever Age Friendly Strategy and Action Plan 2024-27.

When completed, this will provide the framework to ensure our Borough is an age-friendly place where older people are valued, engaged, and supported to live healthy, active, fulfilling lives. 

The draft Age Friendly Strategy and Plan has been developed with the support of funding from the Public Health Agency and the commitment of other partners. 

As part of the process for drafting the document, engagement has been taking place since July 2022, with a wide range of representatives from public, community and voluntary sectors, including people aged 50 and over living in the Borough.

A recently formed Age Friendly Affiliation, made up of partner organisations, has also met, reviewed and had input into the Draft.

Council is now keen to welcome the wider residents of Mid and East Antrim, and organisations who would like to be involved, to share their own views on the Draft Age Friendly Strategy Action Plan.
