Themes including “understanding our area, understanding our community in Mid and East Antrim, Good Relations and Equality context and legislation; understanding diversity and difference; what makes a good leader (locally and globally)?; civic / peer leadership – inspiring others to lead; understanding civic responsibly and democracy; good relations and civic leadership; connecting to our community and connecting with our council and statutory partners.”
One of the aims of the Civic Leadership Programme was to equip participants to become better involved in civic and community life and in good relations activity. The programme also aimed to build knowledge and capacity in realising the importance of living in a shared community. It is anticipated the skills participants learned through the programme will continue to be used to impact their own communities and the lives of their peers, by taking leadership roles and promoting good relations within their areas of influence.
The Civic Leadership Programme was an initiative supported by the Executive Office through Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Good Relations Programme.
