Healthy Heroes

The Healthy Heroes resource provides an engaging method of encouraging children to think about their diet by looking at the fruit and vegetables we eat, our sugar intake and hydration in a fun and interactive way.
The resource includes a lesson plan for facilitators and a booklet for children that can be used in any group setting where Primary aged children meet and can be easily adapted to fit the needs and schedule of groups.
The resource is a joint publication between Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team, their counterparts at Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and the Northern Healthy Lifestyles Partnership.
Topic areas included:
- Food safety - Captain Clean
- Sugar - The Sweet Detectives
- Fruit and Vegetables - Fruit and Veggie Avengers
- Hydration - Hydration Heroes
