Ballykeel Community Centre
The investment works at Ballykeel Community Centre necessitate the closure of the centre for a minimum of 12 weeks, commencing Friday 21 April 2023.
While we understand that this closure will be an inconvenience, we are confident that the significant investment we are making will result in a much better facility for the benefit of our users and the wider community.
The refurbishment will include some internal and external structural work, including work to the roof. Internally there will be new ceilings and flooring, the main and minor hall wooden floors will be refurbished, a new kitchen and new sanitary ware and cubicles in the toilets. The lighting and the accessibility throughout the building will be improved and new fresh painting throughout.
This will improve the centre immensely and that all our users will be excited to return to the centre for the new season.
We anticipate the work will be complete by the end of July 2023, and while we are not anticipating any major surprises or setbacks, we would encourage users to make alternative arrangements until the end of August 2023 with a view to starting back in the centre in September 2023.
If we can open up again sooner than that we will.
Copies of the plans for the works will be displayed in the centre for the 4 weeks prior to closure, this will give an overview of what to expect. There will be no access for any users during the period of closure, this should be taken into consideration if users have equipment stored in the centre.
