Carrickfergus Jail Creative Engagement Programme

Women in Carrickfergus Gaol - Creative engagement programme
Women in the Archives will undertake an engagement programme to explore stories of women and children incarcerated in Carrickfergus Gaol.
Sign up for a FREE 7-week workshop programme where you will:
- Find out about women and children held in the gaol, those sentenced to death and others transported to Tasmania between 1779 and 1850
- Visit museums and heritage sites, including the Linen Hall Library, Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin
- Turn your research into a creative output and make it available for future generations
Spaces are limited & programme requires participation throughout. All ages, genders and backgrounds welcome.
Programme is delivered in partnership with Carrickfergus & District Historical Society, Carrickfergus Museum and Carrickfergus Townscape Heritage Initiative.
