Competitions

​Tallest Sunflower & Painting and Poetry Competition information

Mid and East Antrim in Bloom is holding two creative competitions this year; Tallest Sunflower Competiition, and the Painting and Poetry Competition.

This Annual Competition has been arranged to encourage the borough’s younger citizens to actively assist in Mid And East Antrim’s entry to the Translink ‘Ulster in Bloom Competition’.

The Competition is open to all young gardening enthusiasts aged 16 and under living within Mid And East Antrim borough boundary.

The winner and runner up will receive a prize and certificate at the award ceremony in October.

Entries will be returned on request.

How to enter Applicants should measure the size of their Sunflower during the last week of August using a metric tape measure and complete the entry form below, and return by the 1st September to:-

Painting Competition

Entrants are invited to submit a picture on the theme Mid And East Antrim in Bloom. There are two categories: 10 and under and 16 and under. The pictures’ size should be no more than 420mm x 300mm.

Poetry Competition

Entrants aged 16 and under are invited to submit a poem on the Mid And East Antrim in Bloom theme, in less than 250 words. Please ensure that an entry form is completed in full, stating age.

Prizes

The winner and runner up will receive a prize and certificate at the award ceremony in October.
