Killylane Reservoir

This reservoir is situated on open moorland. The trees around the lake provide good shelter. The reservoir banks are open. There are no access problems at normal water levels, but be careful under low water conditions when mud areas are exposed.

Killylane contains a plentiful stock of wild brown trout which is supplemented by regular stockings of brown trout. This maintains good fishing throughout the season. Popular flies include Cul de Canard (CDC), Bibio patterns, Kate McClaren and Black Pennel - all of which are very effective.

Details on where to obtain permits and information on boat charter are available from Larne Tourist Information Centre and the local angling shops stock a comprehensive range of angling equipment.
