Notice of rights of inspection of council accounts 2025/26
Overview
The council accounts are open to inspection by any member of the public from Wednesday 29 July 2026 to Wednesday 26 August 2026 inclusive between 9.00am and 4.15pm during the week (Monday to Friday only).
If you wish to inspect the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2026, please apply in writing in advance to the Assistant Director – Finance, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, The Braid, 1-29 Bridge Street, Ballymena, BT43 5EJ.
During such an inspection you can view all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them and make copies thereof.

After Thursday 27 August questions or objections can be asked through the Local Government Auditor by anyone who is:
- a voter in the Mid and East Antrim area to which the audit relates;
- a person liable for rates in respect of any property situated in the Borough; or
- a representative of a person mentioned in the above two points.
Such written requests and notices should be sent by the 11 September 2026 to the Local Government Auditor, Brian O’Neill at 106 University Street, Belfast, BT7 1EU.
A copy of any notice of proposed objection must also be sent to the Council at the address below.
The auditor plans to close the audit and certify accounts at a date in the period from 14 September 2026 to 30 September 2026.
