The geological story of Carrickfergus and south-east Antrim - 250 million years in the making.
Thursday 16 February
Carrickfergus Town Hall, 7pm
Carrickfergus Museum is delighted to host a talk by Ian Enlander from the Belfast Geologists’ Society to celebrate this year’s NI Science Festival.
The geology of Carrickfergus is representative of much of Co. Antrim and beyond.
This tale takes us through changing environments including deserts, oceans, land covered in lava flows and also in ice.
The resultant rocks have been an important raw material for many local industries which played their part in the economic and human story of the area.
