Featuring quilts from the Carrickfergus Museum collection, as well as the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, this colourful exhibition celebrates the traditional art of Ulster quilt-making.

Saturday 7 July 

Demonstration of patchwork skills from Boom! Stitchers.

Come and meet the experienced patchwork quilting group from from Boom! Studios and see them creating and making. 

Also see a stunning display of contemporary textile arts and embroidery by textile artists group, Lecora. 



Saturday 4 August 
Introduction to sewing skills
Learn some basic sewing skills including hand-sewing and working with a sewing machine.
Ages 8+ 

Saturday 11 August 
Introduction to patchwork quilts
Learn the basics of traditional patchwork with the disappearing 9-patch technique.
Ages 16+ basic sewing skills required 

Saturday 18 August
Traditional patchwork techniques
Inspired by the Thrifty Threads Exhibition, learn some of the more traditional skills in­cluding the Log Cabin and Lightning Streaks pattern. 
Ages 16+ basic sewing skills required 

All sessions will take place 11am -1pm at Carrickfergus Museum.
