The award-winning chef from Cullybackey has teamed up with her local Council to promote the Find Your Christmas in Mid and East Antrim initiative.

Jenny, who is Ireland’s good food ambassador, will serve up expert advice, guidance and personal recipes to help residents cook up cracking Christmas dishes using produce sourced from the Borough’s extensive and booming agri-food industry.

The celebrity chef invites the public into her kitchen for a culinary masterclass as she prepares three of her favourite Christmas offerings, with Jenny providing a step-by-step guide to getting it just right this year when it comes to delicious festive fayre.

A series of short videos from the cookery demonstrations will be shared on Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s social media accounts in the run-up to Christmas.

Jenny said: “I’m delighted to be working alongside Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to encourage local people and visitors from across Northern Ireland to Find Your Christmas in our beautiful Borough.

“I am a massive advocate of our hugely successful agri-food industry, which continues to provide world-class produce.

“Mid and East Antrim is such a wide and diverse area, and our food and drink reflects that.

“We have a wealth of wonderful produce to choose from, all supplied by local farmers, growers and fishermen.

“To celebrate Christmas and some of our dedicated and innovative local suppliers, I am sharing three of my festive favourites with you.

“Be sure to follow Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s social media accounts over the coming weeks for the very latest, and I hope you will join me for what promises to be an interesting and fun series for seasoned chefs and novices alike.”

Among the local produce set to feature in Jenny’s cookery classes are Glenarm Organic Salmon, Ballygarvey Eggs, RJ Cherry & Son Pak Choi and Camran Marshmallows.

She will also be using flavoursome nuts and berries - all free for picking from our hedgerows across the Borough.

The Borough’s Mayor, Councillor Paul Reid, said: “A big thank you to Jenny Bristow for giving of her precious time to take part in our campaign, which will not only help tackle any seasonal stress in the kitchen but also promotes our wonderful food producers.
