Sunnylands and Woodburn Community Development Group held a family fun day to celebrate on Saturday 30 September.

The fun day was organised by the group in partnership with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and children enjoyed bouncy castles, archery, a climbing wall and football.

The Sunnylands and Woodburn Development Group worked in partnership with Conservation Volunteers to provide a wonderful community garden facility that everyone will be able to use.

Councillor Noel Jordan officially opened the garden, “I want to congratulate the work of the group and the time and effort put into the community by the volunteers has to be commended. I wish to thank the Lottery Fund for funding the venture and I wholeheartedly welcome this excellent facility that the whole community, both young and old, can avail of and enjoy.”

The Deputy Mayor Cllr Cheryl Johnston said, “The fun day has been fantastic and the work put in by this group is second to none. The facilities here are a great way to bring the community together and help us build and empower our local communities.”

Sunnylands and Woodburn Development Group are offering grow beds available to the community or local businesses to sponsor. Each bed is priced at £50 for the year and they will be named after local areas as well as the business.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring a bed they should contact Sunnylands and Woodburn Development Group through their Facebook page.
