Local flavour on show at Balmoral 2025: Council helps local producers take centre stage

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council proudly celebrated local food, drink, and agri-food experience providers at this year’s Balmoral Show.

Visitors to Northern Ireland’s largest agricultural event enjoyed a vibrant showcase of the Borough’s rich culinary heritage, innovative producers, and unique food experiences.

From award winning baked goods and craft spirits to heritage rich food and drink experiences, attendees at the show had the opportunity to meet passionate producers from across Mid and East Antrim; sample their products; and hear the stories behind the flavours and experiences on offer.

The initiative formed part of Council’s ongoing commitment to support the local agri-food sector and promoting the area as a destination for high-quality, authentic food and drink experiences.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman William McCaughey, said:

“The Balmoral Show is a highlight in Northern Ireland’s calendar, and I was delighted to see so many of our talented food and drink producers and experiences representing Mid and East Antrim. It was a brilliant opportunity to showcase the incredible quality and passion our local businesses and vibrant food and drink network bring to the table.”

Local businesses Dobbins Inn, Becca’s Bakes NI, Linda’s Original, The Harbourview Hotel, Vanilla Boxx and Green Thumb HQ showcased their unique offerings on the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council stand in the NI Food Pavilion. This opportunity provided a platform for local food and drink and food experience providers to engage with new customers and potential buyers to support their future growth and development.

Head of Economic Development, Ursula O’Loughlin, said: “Council’s support of businesses to showcase at Balmoral 2025 reinforced our strong commitment to championing local enterprise, encouraging collaboration across the agri-food sector, and driving economic growth within the Borough. The success of the showcase reflects the growing reputation of Mid and East Antrim as a food and drink destination where quality and tradition come together.”
