Citizens with a non-Christian belief comprise 1% of the Borough, and citizens without a religion is represented by 24% of the Borough. 2021 Census The largest age range in MEA Borough is 40-64 at 34%, followed by citizens aged between 15 and 39 at 29%. Over 65s make up 20%, with those aged 0-14 comprise 17% of the Borough. Performance Improvement Plan Consultation Survey (2025) The survey was open to everyone to respond, and 145 responses were received. The age profile of respondents was age between 15-39: 38%, 40-64: 43%, and 65+: 11%. The survey identified over 90% citizen support for three proposed improvement objectives. The Performance Improvement Plan for 2025-2026 is designed to benefit all citizens within this group. |

2021 Census The population of the Borough is 49% male and 51% female. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Citizen Survey (2022) Gender quotas were achieved, in line with the 2021 Census Outputs i.e. Female: 55%, Male: 45%. The survey gave us a comprehensive understanding of the views of our citizens and what they felt was most important for the area, and identified citizens’ top 5 priorities for making the borough a better place to live in. The Performance Improvement Plan for 2025-2026 is designed to benefit all citizens within this group. |

2021 Census There are 138,994 residents within Mid and East Antrim and 25% live with a limiting long term health problem or disability. However, the number of households affected by a resident or residents with a limiting long term health problem or disability totals 45% of the 58,283 households within the Borough. Therefore, nearly half the number of households in Mid and East Antrim are affected by one of the 50,121 limiting long term health problems or disability recorded for the area.
