Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman William McCaughey, hosted a charity dinner on Friday 16 May celebrating the life of former Mayor, Alderman Beth Adger MBE, who recently died in service.

Over 260 guests, family and friends attended the event which honoured the legacy of the former Mayor who led with humility and distinction and dedicated her life to the service of others.
The dinner also served as a fundraiser for Beth’s nominated charities during her Mayoral year - Air Ambulance NI and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust – raising vital funds for these very worthy causes.
The Mayor commented: “In our Council chambers, community events, and throughout our Borough, Beth was known for her warmth, approachability, and genuine concern for others. She led with grace, humility and distinction.
“This event honours Beth's philanthropic spirit by raising funds for the two charities she chose to support during her Mayoral year - Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. These organisations reflected Beth's understanding of the critical importance of emergency medical services and her compassion for those living with chronic conditions.
“By supporting these causes, we continue Beth's legacy of care and commitment.
“Beth's passing leaves a void that will be felt throughout our Borough for years to come. But her spirit lives on in the community she helped build, in the policies she championed, in the children she nurtured and in the countless lives she touched.
“Thank you to everyone who attended, supported the event and contributed to these causes.”
