Cut Costs, Go Green: New Council programme empowers local SMEs

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is delighted to announce the second phase of Go Succeed ‘Green to Grow’, designed to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) become more environmentally focused, reduce costs and lower their carbon emissions.

The initiative funded by UK Government aims to equip local businesses with the knowledge and resources to implement sustainable practices.

Green to Grow was officially launched today at The Braid by Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Councillor Jackson Minford who said: “The launch of phase two of the Green to Grow programme marks another important step in our commitment to supporting local businesses on their sustainability journey.

“By helping SMEs reduce costs and adopt greener practices through specialist environmental support, we’re not only strengthening our economy - we’re investing in a cleaner, more resilient future for Mid and East Antrim.”

Local company AD Sustainability Consultancy Ltd, led by Adrian Davis and based in Larne, has been appointed to deliver the programme. The company brings strong expertise in supporting SMEs to reduce costs and embed sustainable business practices.

Adrian, Founder and CEO of AD Sustainability commented: “As a homegrown business, we’re thrilled to have won the contract to lead this initiative and help other SMEs in Mid and East Antrim embrace environmental sustainability.

“We look forward to delivering practical support that drives real change, helping local businesses navigate rising costs whilst championing greener practices”.

Go Succeed is funded by the UK Government and delivered by Northern Ireland’s 11 councils. The service supports entrepreneurs, new starts and existing businesses with easy-to-access advice and support including mentoring, master classes, peer networks, access to grant funding and a business plan, at every stage of their growth journey.
