Spooktacular Halloween Celebrations Across Mid and East Antrim

Wednesday 1 October 2025

Mid and East Antrim is getting set for a spooktacular Halloween with celebrations taking place in the three main towns, over three nights, plus many more activities throughout the Halloween week.

From Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 October, parks across the borough will be transformed into eerie wonderlands, packed with live performances, spooky walkabouts, dazzling fire displays, music, messy play, discos and plenty of family friendly entertainment.

Each event will also include a special relaxed session to ensure a more comfortable experience for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere.

The celebrations begin with CarrickFEARgus at Shaftesbury Park, Carrickfergus, on Wednesday 29 October, followed by Hallowena in People’s Park, Ballymena, on Thursday 30 October, and finishing with the Halloween Hooley at Larne Town Park on Friday 31 October.

Across the three evenings, visitors can expect everything from interactive shows and themed trails to fancy dress fun, children’s activities, tasty treats, and sparkling fireworks in Ballymena and Larne to round off the festivities (weather permitting).

Tickets for CarrickFEARgus and Hallowena will be released on Wednesday 1 October at 7pm, visit the Shaped by Sea and Stone website's Halloween event listing.

Tickets are free for children (but must still be booked) and cost £2.25 for ages 12 and over.

The Halloween Hooley in Larne is free to attend with no ticket required.

In addition to the evening park celebrations, Mid and East Antrim’s town centres will also feature lots of Halloween fun on Thursday 30 October.

Carrickfergus will host a free spooky silent disco at Carrickfergus Town Hall, 12 noon - 3pm, with a relaxed session from 12 noon - 1pm for those who prefer a calmer experience. (Ticket information to follow).

Larne will welcome families to a Fright & Fun Carnival, 1pm - 3pm in the town centre, featuring carnival games, spooky walkabout performers, face painting, music and more.

And in Ballymena, the popular Ghostbusters car, Ecto-1, will be on display at the Harmony Hub from 2pm – 3pm, ahead of the evening’s Hallowena event.

Movie fans can also catch a special screening of Ghostbusters II, hosted by the Braid Film Club in the Studio Theatre at 3pm. Tickets are available at: thebraid.ticketsolve.com
