    T293/CA Main contractor for Industrial Heritage Trails – Riverside Path, Broughshane and Drum Wood, Cargan

    The proposal involves the development of 2 projects:

    1. To enhance and improve existing trails and walkways along the eastern bank of the river Braid in Broughshane running from Houston Mill at the northern end of the town to Raceview Mill at the southern end of the town. 
    2. To enhance and improve the existing network of trails within the Drum Wood on the Skerry East Road approximately half a mile north of the village of Cargan.

    Mid and East Antrim Borough Council have a number of cemeteries throughout the borough and require a mini-excavator and swivel dumper which will primarily be used for the excavation of graves in line with Industry standards.

    Mid and East Antrim Borough Council encompasses the former Ballymena, Larne and Carrickfergus Borough Councils. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council came into existence on the 1 April 2015 and currently employs some 800+ staff. 

    In recent years the level of sickness absence has reduced and there is a continued drive to improve employee attendance further. This has been a consistent position for some years and is based on a three pronged strategy of:

    • using a progressive Attendance Policy to manage the issue (including in-depth Return To Work Interviews)

    • ensuring managers are well trained and well supported in their use of the Policy

    • ensuring a proactive approach to the Occupational Health Service (including early intervention and in-depth management reports)

    In order to do this Council requires clear and unequivocal advice from the OH Physician and Advisor.
