Performance Improvement Plan

Performance Improvement Plan 2019 - 2020

The Local Government Act (NI) 2014 places a general duty on Councils to “make arrangements to secure continuous improvement in the exercise of its functions.” This includes a statutory requirement to publish a Performance Improvement Plan by 30 June each year.

The Performance Improvement Plan is a key element within our Performance Management Framework, which we use to drive performance and continuous improvement within the organisation.

Our Performance Improvement Plan for 2019/20 was developed and consulted upon alongside the new Corporate Plan for 2019-2023 and included a full public consultation. It is also closely linked to the Community Plan for the area.

The Plan sets out 5 Improvement Objectives for the current financial year. It explains what Council hopes to achieve and how citizens will be better off as a result. It focuses on 6 key Improvement Areas of Strategic Effectiveness, Service Availability, Service Quality, Sustainability, Efficiency and Innovation.

The Plan was officially approved by Council on 28 May 2019.
